Awali Serengeti Camp
Part of Phasec create
Awali Serengeti Camp sits in the central Serengeti near Rongai Hill, with eight tents spread across the property. The camp runs game drives and guided walks directly from the site, and hot-air balloon flights over the plains can be arranged off site. Big Five wildlife moves through the wider area, and the birdlife is substantial enough that the camp lists birding as a dedicated activity.
The tents come in two configurations. Six are single-room luxury tents, each raised on a deck built from recycled timber the camp calls greenwood. Each tent can be set as single, double, twin, or triple, and comes with a large verandah, a lounge area, and two showers: one indoor with hot and cold running water, and one outdoor bucket shower. The two-bedroom family tent uses the same deck construction and lounge layout, and sleeps up to six.
Power is solar throughout, and Wi-Fi runs off the same system. The camp has a restaurant and bar, serves vegetarian options, and offers room service around the clock. Cultural and historical tours run off site, alongside child-friendly activities. The working languages on site are English and Swahili.
The recycled-material decks and solar power are the two concrete elements of the camp's eco-friendly approach.
