Azura Benguerra sits on Benguerra Island inside the Bazaruto Archipelago Marine National Park, in the Inhambane region of Mozambique. The property holds twenty villas, all constructed by the local community using traditional techniques, each with a private pool facing the beach and the Indian Ocean. A dedicated Mozambican host is assigned to each villa for the duration of the stay.

The villas run across six configurations. Three Beach Villas sit beside the spa at the quieter end of the property. Three Luxury Beach Villas and ten Infinity Beach Villas — these last with five-metre pools — occupy the main beachfront. Two Royal Beach Villas at the northern end of the property each cover one hundred and seventy-two square metres and hold thirty metres of beach frontage. Villa Amizade, a two-bedroom villa at the western end, suits families; the Presidential Villa, set one hundred and fifty metres from the main property, has three en-suite bedrooms, its own butler-host, and a private chef.

The surrounding reef supports scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, and catch-and-release fishing. Whale watching is seasonal. Turtles use the outer beaches as nesting ground. The spa offers treatments on-site, and the property runs gourmet picnics and scenic helicopter flights. Horse riding is also available.

Access is by light aircraft. Staff speak English, Portuguese, German, Spanish, and Russian.
