Banana Lodge

Set where the Misahuallí River meets the rainforest, Banana Lodge opens straight onto its own stretch of riverbank. The lodge sits in Puerto Misahuallí, in Ecuador's Napo province, and uses that river frontage as its main door to the forest beyond. Rooms are simple: fans and insect screens instead of air conditioning, free Wi-Fi throughout, and a shared kitchen for guests who want to cook. A garden strung with hammocks runs down toward the water, alongside a sun terrace and barbecue area for evenings outdoors. It is a compact stay, built around movement rather than amenities.
