Banyan Tree Cabo Marqués
Built into the cliffs of Punta Diamante, Banyan Tree Cabo Marqués was conceived as an oceanfront resort with an Asian sensibility, set above the meeting point of Puerto Marqués Bay and the open Pacific. The result is 45 villas, each with its own pool, staggered down the hillside so that nearly every terrace clears the one below it for open water. Some rest among hillside greenery with only garden views; others face the bay directly, or the ocean, or both. The Ocean View Two-Bedroom villas sit above a natural shelf of boulders, pulling their pavilions close to the water's edge. It is a quiet piece of engineering. Villas come with wooden sundecks, floor-to-ceiling glass and heated plunge pools, and you can dine on your own veranda rather than walk to one of the three restaurants. A spa, a gym and infinity pools round out the grounds, along with a bar and 24-hour room service. Beyond the property, the coast offers boat cruises, golf, tennis and cultural tours into Acapulco. Residences are also available for longer stays. Check-in guests arrive to a resort built for privacy first: no shared balconies, no sightlines into a neighbour's pool, just the hill, the glass, and the bay below.
