BeingSattvaa
Ten teak pavilions and rice-field trails set above Ubud's rainforest canopy
Skip to product information
Framed by tiered rice paddies on the edge of Tegallalang, BeingSattvaa keeps its ten villas low among the green, a ten-minute drive from central Ubud. Teak furniture, sourced from Indonesia and mixed with pieces brought in from Jaipur, fills every room, and the accessories, down to the smallest tray, are teak too. There are no televisions in the guest pavilions, a deliberate choice; the only screen sits in the four-bedroom villa's home theatre. Sattvaa Suites, in queen or twin configuration, run to 50 square metres with private terraces and garden bathrooms fitted with a tub and a separate rain shower. The newer Dedari suites sit lower on the property, below the rainforest terrace, each with its own plunge pool and a couch angled toward the trees. From the window seat, forest sound is the only sound. A Sunrise Suite opens straight onto a shared overflow pool, useful for an early swim before the day's yoga class begins. Meals are vegetarian, drawing on Indian, Indonesian, and Mediterranean cooking, and are served in an open-sided dining room. A spa holds two treatment rooms, and a dedicated pavilion runs the daily yoga and meditation programme. Guests can walk out through the paddies on foot, or arrange treks further into the rainforest beyond. It is a compact stay, built for quiet rather than spectacle, with Wi-Fi fibre run the length of the grounds for anyone who wants to stay connected on their own terms.
