Berjaya Reykjavik Marina Hotel
Built into the old harbour district next to the historic Slippur dry dock, the Berjaya Reykjavík Marina Hotel has been renovated from a working waterfront landmark into a 154-room hotel. The site keeps its industrial bones. Large windows in many rooms look straight onto the working harbour, and the décor throughout nods to the fishing trade that once defined this stretch of the city. Rooms come in a range of sizes, each with premium bedding and fast Wi-Fi, and several have direct harbour views.

Life in the hotel runs through Slippbarinn, its restaurant and bar, which claims a role in starting Reykjavík's cocktail scene. Breakfast leans on local ingredients, and dinner service draws on the same. The hotel sits a five-minute walk from the city centre, close enough for an easy walk to Harpa Concert Hall. It also borders Grandi, the harbourside neighbourhood known for its small shops and museums.

The building doubles as a meeting venue, with spaces set apart from the guest floors. It holds Green hotel certification. You can watch the shipyard's daily work from the terrace or a harbour-facing room, a rare thing for a city-centre stay. Reykjavík Art Museum, the National Museum of Iceland and Laugavegur's shops are all within easy reach on foot.
