Best Western Plus Congress Hotel Yerevan
Wine cellar, conference halls and Republic Square meet steps from the lobby bar

The wine cellar is the giveaway: more than 130 labels, most of them Armenian, stacked below a hotel built for business travel as much as leisure. Vincent Wine Room doubles as shop and tasting space, with a sommelier on hand and occasional tastings scheduled through the year. Upstairs, the lobby runs on Vincent Lobby Bar, open around the clock, its renovated seating built for laptops as easily as cocktails. Rooms are plain and functional: the Comfort Double runs to 21 square metres plus a six-square-metre balcony, with a kettle, safe and minibar as standard. It is not a design hotel. Two conference halls, including a 286-square-metre ballroom that seats up to 280 theatre-style, put the Congress in the name to real use. A health club adds a sauna, gym and seasonal outdoor pool with its own bar. Location does the rest of the work. Accent Restaurant serves European food with Armenian touches, open daily. Between the wine room, the meeting rooms and the square outside the door, the hotel reads less as a stopover than as a working base in the middle of the city.
