Best Western Royal Hotel
Set on a town centre site in St Helier, the Best Western Royal Hotel dates back to the 1840s and stands within easy walking distance of both the pedestrian shopping streets and the Millennium Town Park. The building has had ongoing investment over the years, and its 89 bedrooms are individually decorated rather than uniform, ranging from singles and twins to executive rooms and suites. Several rooms open onto the hotel's terraced areas, with direct balcony or patio access in some categories. Downstairs, TWENTY SEVEN David Place serves modern British food with a Jersey accent in a bistro-style room, while Bar 27 keeps a plainer pub atmosphere, with soup and sandwiches on weekday afternoons and a Sunday roast. The hotel also runs a set of function rooms. The Balmoral Suite is one of the largest unobstructed spaces of its kind in St Helier, seating up to 300 for conferences or 250 for a wedding breakfast; the smaller Windsor Suite, self-contained and air-conditioned on the first floor, doubles as a boardroom or dining room. A free, secure car park holds 16 spaces for guests, and WiFi runs throughout the building, including conference rooms. Two rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies. It is, above all, a working town hotel: near the shops, near the harbour road, and built for both a business trip and a wedding weekend.
