Biyadhoo Island Resort

Biyadhoo is a single island in South Malé Atoll, ringed by shallow reef and reached by a 30-minute speedboat ride from the airport. The whole island belongs to the resort, so there is no town, no traffic, and no neighbour beyond the water. It is a compact stay. Ninety-six rooms sit close to the sand, each fitted with a double or single bed, a sitting area, and a writing desk; most open onto a porch where you can catch the ocean breeze without leaving the room. The reef runs close to shore, and the dive centre works it alongside boat trips further into the atoll for scuba diving, snorkelling, and reef fishing. A thatched bar stands near the beach, and a barbecue area handles evening meals outdoors. The restaurant is casual, and breakfast is included. Wi-Fi covers the property, and a small spa offers treatments after a day on or under the water. There is no pretence of scale here: no villas, no private pools, just a straightforward island layout built around the beach and the reef. Boat cruises and island excursions can be arranged for guests who want to see the wider atoll, but much of the stay happens within a short walk of the shore. It suits divers and snorkellers more than anyone chasing polish.
