A DAY WITH LOCALS
A guided walk through Boca San Carlos village life
Skip to product information
The day begins forty-five minutes from the lodge at a three-hundred-and-fifty-year-old ceiba tree, where a guide leads a visit to a local beekeeping project. The tour continues to Los Almendros, an organic farm in Boca San Carlos with more than thirty fruit trees, medicinal plants and edible roots, some of which are gathered for lunch. Guests can feed the farm's pigs, chickens, quails and ducks before leaving the vehicle to walk through the community, passing a viewpoint over Nicaragua's river reserve. After roughly two kilometres on foot, the walk ends at Capitan Morgan with a non-alcoholic piña colada, a bonfire, and the option to help prepare lunch.
