Boutique Hotel Nives

Arriving in Selva di Val Gardena, guests find Boutique Hotel Nives set right in the village centre, close enough to walk to lifts and trailheads on both sides of the season. The hotel is family-run and rated four stars superior, with 13 rooms and suites furnished in a style the owners call comfortable rather than showy. Balconies and large windows are standard. Each room looks onto the village or the surrounding peaks, and comes with a private bathroom, minibar, free Wi-Fi and satellite television. Food runs on two tracks: a South Tyrolean breakfast each morning, and dinner at the à la carte Restaurant Nives, with a wine bar alongside for tastings from the cellar. In winter, a second dining room, Stevia, opens for the season. The spa area is compact but complete, built around an indoor pool, an outdoor hot tub and a separate gym, aimed squarely at guests coming in from a day on skis or on foot. Summer brings access to trail networks through the nearby nature reserve; winter connects directly into the Dolomiti Superski network, one of the region's largest lift systems. You can hear the village go quiet once the lifts close for the evening. It is a small hotel run by one family, in a location built for movement in and out of the mountains.
