Elephant Experiences

Three elephants at Buffelsdrift were orphaned when the adults were killed by poachers; none were taken from the wild for captivity. Guides run two kinds of encounter. The feeding session, offered hourly between 08h00 and 16h00, lasts thirty to forty-five minutes and includes a chance to feed the animals while guides explain their habits and history. The observation session, held from 08h00 to 09h00 and 15h00 to 16h00, is a one-hour walk with the elephants around the five-hectare waterhole. Early booking is recommended, and guests should arrive fifteen minutes before their slot.
