Cabier Ocean Lodge
Grenada's small ocean lodge, a handful of rooms above two bays
Built into a low promontory above the Atlantic on Grenada's east coast, Cabier Ocean Lodge grew from a family holiday property into a small lodge at the end of a quiet rural road in the Mount Cassell Land Settlement. It remains modest in scale. Rooms are split between superior beachside guestrooms, each with a kitchen, ceiling fan and veranda facing Cabier Beach, and the Two Bays Beach Villa, a two-room house with a private pool and a shaded deck running 50 feet along the garden. Two studios can be linked to the villa for a family or group of up to six. The restaurant terrace sits under two mango trees, looking past the coral reef to fishing boats working the bay; the bar beside it stays open through the day. Meals draw on the sea and the island's own produce, cooked Creole style with local herbs and fruit. Guests can arrange boat trips from here, including sails to Hog Island for a snorkel stop and lobster lunch, or catamaran runs out to watch whales and dolphins. Longer sailing packages through the Grenadines, overnighting in sheltered bays, are organised on request. Nights with a full moon over the water are, guests say, the ones to plan a late drink for.
