Camp Adventure

Set in a beech forest on Zealand, Camp Adventure spreads its climbing routes between the trunks in every direction, twelve courses threading through the canopy at different heights and difficulty levels. It is Denmark's largest climbing park. Two beginner routes for children sit low off the forest floor, each built from nine obstacles and a short zip line, while the red route climbs to 25 metres for those over seven and 130 centimetres tall. The whole circuit tops out on a zip line 500 metres long, strung through the beech canopy at the end of the red and blue routes. Instructors fit safety gear and brief every climber before they start, and once the entry fee is paid, access to every route is included. Most guests spend around four hours among the trees before tiredness sets in, though a full day is common, with breaks taken by a small lake and in the yard of an old, renovated farmhouse. Weight limit on the courses is 120 kilograms. Beyond the ropes, glamping tents modelled on herders' shelters offer two to four beds, a private terrace, a kitchen and a bathroom, insulated for year-round use, with a sauna set between two of the tent clusters. Birdsong carries up through the branches as climbers move tree to tree. Parking and site access are covered by the entry ticket.
