Camp Boutique

Canvas is the material here, not concrete. Camp Boutique is a tent hotel on Iceland's South Coast, built on a family estate that stood as a farm until recent years. Bell tents come in two forms, a Deluxe double and a larger family tent, each heated by electric radiators with heated mattress pads under the made-up beds. A service house holds cooking facilities, a lounge, and bathrooms, with gas grills set up outside for guests to use at no charge. It is a compact stay, five minutes on foot from a black sand beach where bird life draws visitors out at dawn. Since 2025 the property has added ten Black Beach Aurora Domes, built to stand through every season and to frame the view and the northern lights from inside. A second service house was raised nearer the domes, cutting the walk to the toilets and showers. Free fibre internet runs through the main service house, and a connection can be extended to the tents on request. You can hear the coast from the tents at night, farmland stretching around on every side. The property sits about a forty-minute drive from Reykjavík, set apart from the crowds of the capital but close enough for a day trip in either direction.
