Cape Pakarang

Set where sunrise and sunset both strike the water, Pakarang Cape marks the westernmost point of mainland Thailand, and the resort takes its name from the ground it sits on. Living walls, bamboo and tropical planting wrap eight suites, all built for adults only. Rooms are modern and low-slung, arranged around a coastline of coral rock and open sea rather than a sheltered lagoon. The Pool Villa runs to 100 square metres with an ocean view and its own sunrise plunge pool; the Grounding Suite, at 80 square metres, has a private plunge set among coconut palms; the Bird Nest, smaller at 60 square metres, sits higher, open to the sky. Breakfast is plant-based and included, and each stay comes with a weekly yoga or nature-craft session led by a personal well-being guide. The kitchen sources from small family-run suppliers nearby, and the resort runs on rainwater it collects and filters on site. Beyond the suites, Khao Lak opens onto surf breaks at Memories Beach, the reefs off Similan and Surin islands, and the rainforest of Khao Sok National Park. It is a compact stay, walkable end to end in minutes. Phuket International Airport lies a 75-minute drive south, along a coast road that runs the length of the cape.
