Capri Wine Hotel
Shaded by an old vineyard planted on land that once fed the whole island, Capri Wine Hotel keeps the working garden at its centre. Raffaele and Elena Coppola opened the hotel in 2013 on the site of their family's vineyard, and the grounds still hold vines, lemon trees and a vegetable plot running 100 metres toward the sea. It is a small hotel, adults-only, set on the road between the port of Marina Grande and the centre of Capri. Deluxe rooms open onto a private terrace or patio with sea views, and their bathrooms are finished in local marble. The Junior Suite has a four-poster bed and its own sea-view terrace; the sofa converts to an extra bed for three. Breakfast is taken in the garden among the lemon trees, coffee and cake first, then eggs cooked to order, with a view over the Bay of Naples. In the evening the wine bar pours from a cellar of Italian labels, served with small plates. You can pick lemons from the trees yourself for a fresh juice. The Piazzetta is a ten-minute walk; the steps to Marina Grande's beaches take five. Rooms come with air conditioning, wifi and a minibar, and the hotel can arrange a boat around the island or a scooter into town.
