Casa Bom Dia

Casa Bom Dia is set on one of the highest points in Mindelo, in the quiet Alto Solarino district. From the rooftop terrace the view runs over the city centre, the residential streets below, the volcanic peak of Monte Cara and the Atlantic beyond the harbour. The house itself is a yellow colonial building with three rooms, each furnished by local craftsmen and fitted with a queen bed, a seating area and a private bathroom. The Oxygen Room sits alone on the terrace, with its own lounge corner for watching the sun set over the water. Downstairs, the Energy Room catches the morning light through a wide window facing the sea. It is a short walk to most things that matter. The city centre is 400 metres away, the harbour 600, and Laginha beach just over a kilometre down the hill. Guests share an outdoor kitchen, a communal table and a self-service bar on the terrace, along with snorkelling gear, bicycles and fishing line for days spent along the coast. Breakfast is made from local produce and served each morning at the shared table. Christophe and Cristina run the house together, and Bronk, their dog, tends to be somewhere nearby. The neighbourhood stays quiet after dark, even with the centre so close.
