Castle View Lodge

Castle View Lodge is a three-bedroom self-catering stay set into the middle of Doolin village, a two-minute walk from Fisherstreet. It looks directly across at Doonmacfelim Castle, a ruin standing for five centuries, and the view holds from the private deck, the sunroom, and the kitchen table. Niall and Darra converted the building from the old Horseshoe House in 2018, stripping walls and floors back and laying over 3,000 square feet of oak parquet before Darra fitted the rooms out with Laura Ashley furnishings. Two bedrooms hold king beds; the third has twins. It sleeps up to six. Each room has its own bathroom with a walk-in shower and bathrobes, and a smart TV besides. The lounge and sunroom open onto horse paddocks behind the castle, where a Irish Draught gelding named Junior sometimes wanders over to the fence. A hardwood deck holds the private hot tub, pre-heated and facing the ruin, and this is where most evenings end. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a breakfast bar and table for six, and guests can arrange a Burren breakfast delivery or a private chef for the evening. Doolin's pubs, restaurants, and pier sit within walking distance, and the Cliffs of Moher coastal path begins at the village edge. Check-out is 10:30am.
