Cedar Haven Resort
A family-run cedar retreat where hiking days end in the sauna

Arrival means a gravel turn off the road between Clearwater and Wells Gray Park, onto 30 acres of cedar forest at the foot of Raft Mountain. Cedar Haven Resort is a small, family-run stay built from western red cedar harvested on its own land. Two cabins and one larger one-bedroom cabin come with kitchens, private bathrooms and fold-out beds for extra guests. Four luxury tents sit apart under the canopy, canvas-walled but fitted with hardwood floors, plush queen beds and ensuite bathrooms with separate showers. It is glamping without the compromises. Coffee and tea wait in each tent; a fridge and small counter cover the basics. Guests share a sauna, a campfire circle and outdoor barbecue areas, along with a garden for slower mornings. Days are built around Wells Gray Park itself, reached directly from the resort: Helmcken Falls, Spahats Falls and dozens more among the park's 39 waterfalls, plus hiking routes from Moul Falls to the Trophy Mountain alpine meadows. Mountain-biking and cross-country ski trails run just one kilometre away. Evenings return to the property for a hot shower, a robe from the sauna, and steaks off the grill. The resort runs seasonally, from mid-May to late September, and check-in starts at 3pm. Wifi reaches the tents and cabins but can be patchy, a fair trade for the setting.
