Chalet Hotel Schönegg
A Zermatt boutique chalet built around one relentless Matterhorn view
Skip to product information
Framed by reclaimed wood panelling and stone-slab fireplaces, the rooms at Chalet Hotel Schönegg are built around a single fixed point: the Matterhorn. Most face it directly, and several open onto a balcony for the view alone. The look mixes old timber and glass with a tighter, more contemporary hand than the classic Zermatt chalet — sloped ceilings kept, bathrooms modernised, colour kept quiet. Rooms run from a 19 m² single up to a 52 m² Master Suite with fireplace and jacuzzi; the Junior Suite adds 53 m² of the same. It is a compact hotel, and every category has been renovated on the same logic: keep the timber, sharpen the rest. The Infinity Spa sits above the rooftops of the village, with indoor and outdoor pools and a jacuzzi looking out over the valley. Restaurant Saveurs serves alpine cooking built on seasonal ingredients, with a wine list weighted toward Valais; Bar Uncorked runs afterward for cocktails and light bites, and takes dogs at breakfast and dinner. Zermatt itself is car-free, reached by train or by shuttle from Täsch, and the hotel arranges an electric taxi transfer on arrival. Sunnegga's lift station is two minutes away on foot through a private tunnel. Check-in runs from 3pm.
