Changi Cove
Four hectares, 315 preserved trees, and 433 solar panels near Changi Airport
Skip to product information
Built in consultation with Singapore's parks authority, Changi Cove kept 315 trees standing through construction, among them a Common Pulai estimated at over a hundred and sixty years old. The result sits at the edge of the Changi Tree Conservation Area on four hectares of land, its low, glass-fronted buildings arranged around the older canopy rather than over it. The hotel holds Green Mark and Platinum Super Low Energy certification. Rooftop solar panels, 433 of them, supply close to a quarter of its annual power. Sun-control glazing cuts heat gain while keeping rooms bright, and LED lighting with motion sensors runs through the public areas. It is a quiet piece of engineering, not a slogan.
Rooms open onto corridors rather than sealed hallways, so daylight and air move through without constant air conditioning. Water-saving fittings run in every bathroom. Standard king, standard twin, and deluxe rooms make up the guestroom range, finished with hardwood floors and, in some, a hanging bean bag chair by the window. The White Olive restaurant serves fresh, locally sourced meals to up to 90 guests at a sitting. Eight meeting rooms and a 4,000 sq ft auditorium, convertible for up to 220 people, handle conferences, seminars, and weddings alike. Migratory birds pass through the tree crowns outside the Conservatory function room. Changi Beach Park lies 2 km away.
