Built on the white sand of Anse Vata, Château Royal Beach Resort & Spa has grown into a seven-storey fixture on Nouméa's shoreline, its 109 suites arranged across standard, superior and prestige categories. The resort keeps its own cellar, La Cave du Château, stocked in part with TWG teas also sold at the spa boutique. It faces a lagoon listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aqua Royal Spa draws on a method devised in 1987 at the Thermes Marins de Saint-Malo: a 300 m² Aquatonic pool with 12 hydro-massage jets, plus sauna, steam room and cold plunge. Access to the pool needs no booking during opening hours. Four restaurants and bars punctuate the grounds, from La Pirogue's evening tasting menu to the Pool Bar's poolside drinks list. Gardens run through the property under the name Deck Gardens, open from early morning into the evening, and a gated path leads straight onto the beach with a room key. You can book a couple's massage at the spa or walk down for a swim before dinner. Two suites are fitted for guests with reduced mobility. The hotel also handles events, with an outdoor terrace of 200 m² and grounds of 1.5 hectares available for weddings and conferences alike.
