Chez Marc
Chez Marc is a hotel-restaurant tucked into the Golf district of Lubumbashi, a short walk from the zoo. Marc Arnou and his wife Béné have run it since 2019, and the place keeps the scale of a private house rather than a hotel. Fourteen rooms and apartments open onto a garden, each fitted with air conditioning, and a pool sits at the centre for guests staying beyond a meal. The address is deliberately low-key; there is no signage to speak of, and word of mouth carries most of the traffic. Fondue bourguignonne is made for two or more. A daily suggestions board follows what has come in that morning, from scallops to truffle spaghetti. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on-site, with outdoor seating and a bar for anyone happy to linger. Parking is private and covered, with valet service and space for bikes. Cards are accepted alongside cash. The dress code stretches from casual to business, and the whole property reads as a calm base near the Golf rather than a destination in itself.
