Chobe House

Set on the Chobe riverbank at Kasane, Chobe House looks across the water toward the national park, close enough that boat game drives leave straight from the property dock. The main villa holds four bedrooms, a full kitchen, a bar, a reading room and a lounge, built for one group travelling together rather than shared with other guests. Five separate chalets add kitchenettes, fridges and their own lounge areas for smaller parties or couples. It is a compact, fully staffed base rather than a large hotel. Days run on no fixed schedule: guides take guests out for game drives into Chobe National Park, or onto the river itself, where elephants, hippos and crocodiles gather along the banks. Overnight camping trips into the bush are run by the lodge's own team, with dinner served outdoors and the calls of lions and hyenas carrying across camp after dark. Back at the lodge, a pool, a braai area and outdoor seating fill the space between activities, and a pontoon gives a fixed point to watch the sun go down over the water. Wi-Fi reaches the rooms and chalets alike. Because the whole property books to one group at a time, there is no queue for a boat seat or a table at dinner — whoever is staying decides the pace.
