Clarens Butterfly Beds is two separate self-catering stays under one name, both within walking distance of the village square. Berg Cottage, on Berg Street, dates to 1929 and was one of the first buildings raised in the village. It sleeps six across two bathrooms, with a wood-fired oven and grounds that back onto sandstone cliffs. Hiking trails through the conservancy start at the door, and dogs are welcome on them.
Rosewood Corner sits at the corner of Main and Naude Streets, on the original site of the old NG Kerk. It sleeps ten across four en-suite garden-facing rooms, each with tea and coffee trays and a small fridge; one room, Lavender, has its own braai area, while the other three share a communal one under a thatched entertainment area. There is no breakfast service. Restaurants, galleries and shops line the square a few minutes on foot, and the garden itself has quiet corners for reading over a glass of wine.
Both properties run on a self-catering, room-only basis. Between them they offer a base for families or small groups who want a private garden and a kitchen, with the town's cafés, breweries and craft shops close enough to reach without a car.
