Hyde Park lies under ten minutes away on foot, though little about the hotel encourages you to leave. Rooms are set around a courtyard, and most look down onto it rather than out onto the street, which keeps things quiet given the address. Bathrooms are finished in marble throughout.
The Reading Room serves a contemporary menu under Art Deco cornicing and columns, while the Fumoir, styled after the 1930s, pours period-inspired cocktails and a long list of spirits. Afternoon tea is laid out in the foyer, a grand, high-ceilinged room, with a choice of more than fifty teas alongside classic pastries.
