Classic Resort Lodge Musanze
Local stone and volcano views frame a Musanze base for gorilla trekking
Skip to product information
Local stone walls and garden plantings run across the grounds at Classic Lodge, set back from Musanze with a clear line of sight to the Virunga Volcano National Park peaks. The rock is quarried near enough to look native to the site, laid into terraces and low walls that guests can walk between on the way to the pool. Rooms and eco-lodges number 32 in total, ranging from a compact single suited to a solo traveller to a two-bedroom suite with a garden outlook. Each room carries air conditioning, a private bathroom and a hairdryer as standard. You can hear the pool area before you see it, generally quiet even in high season, ringed by the same local stone as the paths. The property sits roughly 50 minutes from Rubavu and around two hours from Kigali, close enough to the Northern Province's volcanic terrain to make gorilla trekking a straightforward day trip. Breakfast is served daily. Staff are noted for arranging room upgrades and attentive service without fuss. It is a working lodge rather than a boutique retreat, built for volume, and the stone and greenery give it a grounded, garden-set feel uncommon at that scale.
