Coco Plum Island Resort

Ringed by clear, shallow water where starfish and small fish sit visible underfoot, Coco Plum Island Resort occupies a 16-acre cay nine miles off Dangriga, on Belize's southern coast. It is an adults-only, all-inclusive property built around close, personal service rather than scale. Eighteen standalone cabanas line the shore, each a short walk from the sea, and one three-bedroom overwater villa sits apart with its own kitchen and living space. The island caps guests at forty-four at a time, so the beach and docks rarely feel crowded. Frigate birds pass overhead most mornings, and Man-O-War Caye, a bird sanctuary half a mile away, draws pelicans and brown boobies year-round. Two pools and two bars anchor the social end of the island; the Serenity Bar at the southeast tip stays quieter. Snorkelling trips run out to nearby patch reefs and mangrove habitat, and the Belize Barrier Reef, the longest unbroken reef in the world, lies a short boat ride offshore. Kayaks, paddleboards, and a Hobie Cat are included, and guests can fly-fish for bonefish and permit straight off the docks. Fishing, diving, and jungle add-ons, including cave tubing and ziplining on the mainland, extend the stay beyond the cay itself. Staff are largely local and long-serving.
