Cocobay Resort Antigua
Cocobay began as a cluster of gingerbread-trimmed cottages built into a hillside above Valley Church Bay, on Antigua's western coast. Sixty-five cottages remain, arranged across three tiers, each painted in the pastel palette of old Caribbean plantation houses and set with a private verandah. The hillside drops toward two white-sand beaches, and the sea is visible from most rooms, a detail that shaped the resort's layout from the start. Rooms carry no televisions, a deliberate choice kept since the property's early days to hold attention on the water and the garden. Higher tiers add plunge pools: the Deluxe Pool Cottage and Premium Pool Suite sit at Silver Sand level, while the Waterfront and Azure Waterfront Pool Suites, at Starfish level, sit directly on the ocean's edge. The Wellness Deck, an open-air thatched cottage, looks out over the bay toward the ridge known locally as the Sleeping Indian. You can hear the sea from the massage tables there. Rafters Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with sea views included in the all-inclusive rate, while the independently run Sheer Rocks restaurant sits on the same grounds by separate reservation. The resort is adults-only. Non-motorised watersports, yoga and nature walks are included daily, keeping the pace unhurried and the focus on the shoreline below.
