Acoustic tagging of GT's and Grey Reef sharks with Dr Ryan Daly

Guests join marine biologist Dr Ryan Daly, who has spent over ten years tracking apex predators along Africa's east coast, in fitting five acoustic tags to giant trevally and grey reef sharks caught by hand with guidance from the team. Each tag transmits a signal for up to seven years, logging the animal's movement whenever it passes a receiver in the coastal monitoring network stretched along the shore. Guests may also help deploy a satellite tag if a hammerhead or tiger shark is landed. Dr Daly gives an evening talk on his research, or discusses it over dinner. Subject to availability.
