Crystal Blue Resort

Crystal Blue Resort is a dive-focused stay on Balayan Bay, facing Arthur's Rock, a marine protected reef that forms the resort's house dive site. The water here runs still and clear, giving Anilao its reputation as a hub for macro photography rather than big-animal encounters. Rooms are arranged as Superior, Deluxe, or Family Villa, ranging from 16 to 28 square metres, each air-conditioned with a private bathroom and hot water. Deluxe rooms carry a balcony facing the bay. It is a working dive base first. Days start early with coffee at the camera room, an environmentally controlled space built for charging strobes and housings between dives, and end at the F-Stop bar on the sunset deck. The open-air dining room overlooks the bay and serves a buffet mixing Filipino, Thai, and Western dishes, with a made-to-order omelette station at breakfast. Non-divers can kayak the fringing reef, hike the hills above Batangas, or book a spa massage between boat trips. Wi-Fi reaches the restaurant and lounge but stays unreliable, fine for email, rarely enough for photo uploads. Manila lies about two and a half hours away by road, and resort transfers meet guests at the airport. Anilao's dry season, from October to May, is generally regarded as the clearer window for diving, though critters stay active year-round.
