Dar Naël

Arriving in Djerbahood, the mural-covered village on Djerba's edge, guests are met by a driver holding a sign printed with the house name, if a transfer has been arranged in advance. Dar Naël sits about 10 kilometres from Djerba–Zarzis International, in Houmt Souk. It is a small, family-run house, built and decorated entirely by Tunisian craftsmen. Four suites make up the property: Noora, a 40 m² room in white, black and gold with a king bed and private terrace; Zina, in Majorelle blue and white with a queen bed; and Yasmina, also 40 m², with a queen bed downstairs and a separate sleeping area for children upstairs. Each room has its own bathroom, air conditioning and soundproofing. A pool ringed by palm trees anchors the courtyard, with loungers and traditional foutas set out for guests. Inside, a hammam and indoor jacuzzi offer a version of the Oriental bathing ritual, and massages can be booked directly in-suite. Breakfast is included and built around local produce; lunch and dinner run on request, Mediterranean in style, sometimes served outdoors under the stars. The concierge arranges quad rides through the dunes, horseback outings on the beach and guided walks through Djerbahood's murals. A lounge, furnished by local artisans, serves as the house's communal room, warmed by a fireplace in winter.
