Das Gerlos

Wood dominates here: pale timber floors, panelled walls, and furniture cut in clean, minimalist lines run through every room. Das Gerlos sits in Gerlos, in the Zillertal valley, with the Tyrolean mountains framing its windows on every floor. Rooms run from compact doubles of 22 m² to a Penthouse Suite of 110 m², the largest with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a bathtub positioned for the mountain view. It is a small hotel. The Loft and Suite with balcony categories add private terraces and kitchenettes, aimed at longer stays or groups of four to six. A spa on the third floor holds a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, and a relaxation room, chosen for that floor precisely for its panoramic outlook. Breakfast runs on an open kitchen, where guests can watch eggs Benedict and pancakes made to order using produce sourced from the region. Downstairs, the lobby lounge doubles as a bar, serving cakes and snacks by day and drinks by evening. The hotel also stores ski, bike, and hiking gear on site and issues ski passes at reception, cutting the need for queues at the lift. Solar-style sustainability measures include renewable energy, e-car charging points, and greenery planted across the roof and lobby. It reads as a working base for the Zillertal Arena's slopes and trails, not a destination in itself.
