De Foret

Guests reach Radhanagar Beach on foot, a walk of about 3.2 kilometres through the forest that surrounds De Foret. Elephant Beach lies a trek away, and Kalapathar Beach a short drive further along the coast. The resort was built into standing woodland on Havelock Island, known locally as Swaraj Dweep, with no trees cleared for its footprint. Fourteen De Tropical Villas open onto private balconies facing the forest, each around 400 square feet with hand-finished furniture. Seven De Standing Duplexes add hardwood interiors and an earthier palette. Two De Belle Villas run to 650 square feet, and one pairs its outdoor seating area with a private pool. A shared pool sits beneath the tree canopy, overlooked by L'Amour restaurant on its raised deck. Sante' bar keeps a list of cocktails and wines nearby. Diving and snorkelling trips run through partner dive operators, covering Havelock's reef sites at various depths and light. A naturalist leads mangrove walks and low-tide intertidal walks along the shallows, and forest trails start from the property itself. Sunset cruises depart most afternoons and run about an hour. It is a compact base for a beach-first stay. Breakfast can be served floating in the pool on request, and rooms come with tea and coffee facilities, a safe and air conditioning throughout.
