Desert Discovery Center

Desert Discovery Center is a 7,000 square foot facility surrounded by 12 acres of public land located in Barstow, California. The centre houses a myriad of exhibits including the famous "Old Woman Meteorite”, which is the second biggest meteorite found in the United States. A native plant and animal habitat are also housed in the secret garden and pond area where visitors can enjoy the peaceful environment with art installations and meet the famous resident tortoises. The centre also hosts various environmental education programs such as art workshops, gardening seminars, desert field trips, school environmental programs, film nights, archaeology classes and so much more.
