Desierto Azul

Set low against the desert floor, polished concrete walls and wood pergolas frame views of giant cardón cactus and a saltwater pool. Desierto Azul holds just four rooms, each with its own entry path, terrace and rainfall shower room finished in artisanal tile. It is a compact stay. Nopal and Pitaya, the two standard rooms, run 25 square metres with king beds and outdoor terraces facing the pool and cactus garden. Damiana, a 35-square-metre suite, adds a sofa bed and terrace views over the pool at sunset, while Torote, the family suite, looks toward the Sierra de la Laguna range and sleeps up to four. Mornings start with pour-over coffee brought to the room, followed by breakfast at PanVero, the on-site gluten-free bakery. The property runs on solar power and filtered grey water, with organic cotton linens and refillable bath products throughout. Built in Las Tunas, a quiet stretch of coast eight minutes north of Todos Santos town, the hotel sits a short walk from an undeveloped beach where turtles hatch in season and whales pass offshore in winter. A cooking studio hosts hands-on plant-based classes led by the property's culinary nutrition expert. The whole hotel can be booked for a private buyout of up to eleven guests across its four units.
