Design Hotel Neruda

Painted floor tiles, oriental carpets and glass-walled bathrooms mark the Design rooms, each fitted out under the eye of architect Bořek Šípek and designer Barbora Škorpilová. The hotel occupies three buildings on Nerudova Street, once part of the Royal Route up to Prague Castle, whose origins trace to the 14th century; one, the House of the Three Eagles, appears in records as early as 1348. A former monastery sits within the complex too, its traces still visible in the interiors. Rooms come in two characters: Design, with Šípek's personal stamp, and Standard, simpler and calmer. There are 42 in total. Original artworks by Czech artists Jakub Špaňhel and Marek Číhal hang through the public areas, tying the literary legacy of former resident Jan Neruda, the hotel's namesake, to a more contemporary visual language. Downstairs, a private spa holds a sauna and jacuzzi, bookable by the hour. You can walk to Charles Bridge in under ten minutes and reach Prague Castle in two. The herb terrace supplies the kitchen directly, and breakfast runs with a buffet, prosecco and fresh juice. Check-in starts at 3pm. It is a compact stay, intimate rather than sprawling, built into buildings that have stood on this hill for centuries and been reworked, room by room, without erasing what was there before.
