Domle Herrgard Spa & Resort

Wood-panelled salons meet glass-walled spa pools at Dömle Herrgård, a mansion whose recorded history runs back to 1446. The lake, Smårissjön, sits close enough that a terrace off the main house looks straight over it, seating arranged for long views rather than shade. Guest rooms are spread across five separate buildings, each renovated with a different pitch of comfort, from simple to suite. The spa area, opened in 2018, pairs indoor and outdoor pools with wood-fired hot tubs by the water and a cold-plunge pool added more recently. A sauna and jetty extend onto the sandy beach. Inside, the kitchen runs without a fixed menu, cooking instead to what the season supplies, and the wine is kept in its own cellar beneath the dining rooms. Golfers are well served: one course sits within putting distance of the front door, and nine others lie within easy reach across the region. Meetings run in parallel, from small boardrooms to halls holding up to 150 people, and a private house on the grounds offers its own conference room, kitchen, lounge, gym and bar for total separation from the main building. A chapel on site handles weddings and civil ceremonies. Forest trails and the paved Klarälvsbanan cycle route start nearby, and paddle courts sit just off the lawn. It works through every season, indoors or out.
