Driftwood Inn Guernsey
Dinner here means a table angled toward Perelle Bay, watching the sun go down over water that supplied the lobster on the plate. Eleven of those rooms face the sea; the rest look inland. Rooms come in four types, from a standard double to a large sea-view room with its own lounge, and all carry a flat-screen television, an en-suite bath and shower, and free Wi-Fi. The bistro runs on locally sourced ingredients, with lobster landed at Perelle Bay and served the day it comes in. Sundays bring a carvery in the dining room; Fridays in summer bring live jazz on the terrace. Guests get fresh Guernsey milk delivered each morning, and a small sandy beach appears across the road at high tide. There's a separate pizzeria and pub for a more casual meal, and bike storage with charging points for anyone arriving on two wheels. The building sits on a main road between the airport and the harbour, with a bus stop outside and parking for those who drive. It is a compact stay, built around the view and the kitchen rather than scale.
