Duut Resort

Arkhangai aimag holds the springs that give this resort its reason for being, a stretch of geothermal water in Tsenkher soum roughly 480 km from Ulaanbaatar. The water rises at 86°C and carries natural minerals said to ease joint and skin complaints. It is a long drive in. Guests arrive after seven or eight hours on the road from the capital, then settle into one of several room types built around the springs rather than apart from them. Accommodation ranges from traditional gers to hotel rooms and a Deer House with four bedrooms, a basement kitchen, and its own sauna. The Family Suite has a private indoor hot spring tub on the ground floor and sleeping quarters above. A basketball court and wooden playground round out the grounds. Starlink internet reaches the restaurant and coffee shop, useful given the terrain around it offers little else. At night, staff have been known to relight the stove in a ger to keep guests warm. The resort holds more than 250 guests across its rooms and tents combined.
