Eco Del Mar Playa El Tunco

Set among trees 150 metres back from Playa El Tunco, Eco Del Mar keeps its distance from the sand short and its footprint small. The hotel holds five apartments, each with a private balcony facing either the pool or the garden. Las Flores sits on the ground floor in front of the pool; La Bocana and Punta Roca, upstairs, look over it instead. Punta Mango takes large groups, with a double bed and two bunk beds under one roof. Rooms come with air conditioning, wireless internet, a mini fridge, and a private bathroom. It is a compact stay. Wooden terraces run along the rooms, strung with hammocks for the stretch between the beach and the next surf session. You can hear the Pacific from the garden view rooms even without seeing it. Playa El Tunco itself is a walk away, known well beyond El Salvador for its right-hand point break, and the hotel's location in the middle of town puts restaurants and the shoreline within easy reach on foot. Breakfast is included in room rates, served in a dedicated breakfast area on site. The architecture is plain and modern, built low among the trees rather than over them, and the whole property reads as a base for surf trips rather than a destination in its own right.
