Eco Village Nevidio

Eco Selo Nevidio is a cluster of nine timber cottages in Pošćenje, 22 kilometres from Žabljak in northern Montenegro. It sits 450 metres off the road that runs from the Bay of Kotor to Belgrade, and marks the last stop before Nevidio Canyon, a narrow gorge whose cliffs close in so tightly that light barely reaches the water below. Five small cottages sleep four across two floors, at 40 m² each; four larger ones sleep six across two bedrooms, at 60 m². Every cottage has its own terrace facing the lake in front of the village. The property holds Montenegro's first EU Ecolabel certification, running on solar power with locally sourced food and no single-use plastic. Founded by mountaineer Dragan Gašo Lalović, a former rescuer with the Montenegrin Mountain Rescue service, the village carries his background in its programme of guided routes. Guests can arrange canyoning through Nevidio, rafting on the Tara River canyon, horse riding, mountain biking, and hikes up Durmitor, whose highest peak reaches 2,523 metres. Yoga sessions run outdoors most afternoons. A mountain concierge line handles bookings for tours and equipment. The restaurant serves food by the plate rather than a fixed menu, drawing on regional recipes. It is a working base for the mountains, not a spot to pass through.
