Ecoboo Maldives is a boutique hotel raised from roughly 8,000 bamboo poles on Thinadhoo Island, in the Vaavu Atoll. Forty rooms sit across six categories, from the mezzanine-level Bamboo Loft to the six-guest Lemon Grass family room, most opening to garden, partial ocean, or full sea views. The island's bikini beach runs its full length, and the reef lies close enough to reach by swimming. Rooms keep it simple: air conditioning, a desk, a wardrobe, tea and coffee facilities. Three dining spaces serve the property, including Sol Terrace, a floating bar said to be the only one in the atoll. Meals run to Maldivian fusion and fresh seafood, with plant-based and gluten-free options on request. Daily excursions go out by traditional Dhoni boat, taking guests to sandbanks, dolphin waters and the nurse sharks that gather around Thinadhoo and its neighbouring islands. Diving, fishing, and private charters can be arranged separately. You can watch the sunset from the water most evenings, weather allowing. A water treatment and reuse system runs alongside the hotel's waste-reduction programme, and the build itself was designed toward a neutral carbon footprint. Speedboat transfers connect the island to Malé in about ninety minutes; seaplane transfers run in roughly twenty. Check-in follows the guest's arrival by boat, not the clock.
