Eden is a private motu off Taha'a, ringed by a shallow lagoon in French Polynesia's Leeward Islands. The island covers just 5,000 square metres, reachable only by boat from the airport on neighbouring Raiatea. Coral gardens surround the shore, and black-tip reef sharks, rays, moray eels and octopus move through water clear enough to see them from the jetty.
Five bungalows sit on the island, each over 100 square metres and built with direct lagoon access. Four Sunset bungalows face Bora-Bora and sleep up to three; the single Sunrise bungalow looks toward Huahine from its own stretch of beach and sleeps up to five. Rooms come with a private bathroom, television, safe and tea and coffee facilities. The island runs on solar power and avoids single-use plastic.
A restaurant serves meals built around the day's catch, and a small spa offers massage by the water. You can paddle board or kayak around the motu, since the lagoon runs too shallow in places for swimming. Day trips reach a black pearl farm, a vanilla plantation and a rum distillery on Taha'a itself, along with snorkelling among the reefs. There is no wider resort here, just an on-site restaurant, bar and spa shared among a handful of guests at a time.
