Ten rooms of jugendstil detail beside Kuressaare Castle's old moat
Skip to product information
The rooms are jugendstil in style, ten in total, each looking out on a different view: the medieval bishop's castle, the water-filled moat, the town park, or the hotel's own garden. Bathrooms carry the same detailing through to the fittings. It is a compact stay. Four street-facing rooms have a bath; the other six have a shower corner. Seven rooms fall into the deluxe category, larger than the three standard rooms, and three of the deluxe rooms have a balcony. One ground-floor deluxe room has its own terrace with a separate entrance; two upper-floor rooms share a balcony. Every room carries a minibar, television, safe, hairdryer and robes, with Wi-Fi throughout the building. The hotel building itself sits on the site of a bastion built into Kuressaare Castle's fortifications, with a smithy once standing where the hotel now stands. Breakfast is served each morning in a first-floor lounge, though guests may take it in their room or, in summer, in the eastern garden. The spread runs to Saaremaa bread and butter, smoked and salted fish, cheese, local preserves and honey, with a glass of sparkling wine on the side. A spa lies a short walk away.
