The Forest Hike - Included

A three- to four-hour walk through El Remanso's onsite forest trails with one of the lodge's naturalist guides. Equipped with a portable tripod and monocular, the guide points out trees several hundred years old, explains the medicinal uses of local plants, and identifies reptiles, insects, birds and other animals along the way. The route covers the property's own patch of the Osa Peninsula's rainforest, one of Central America's most biodiverse regions, with commentary on its ecology and history woven through the walk. Included for guests, it runs at a pace set by what the forest reveals rather than the clock.
