Encantada Ocean Cottages

Palm trees lean over the cottages at Encantada, and the sound that carries loudest after dark is the surf, not traffic. Rooms range from a Private Retreat for two, with a balcony hammock over the pool, to an Oceanfront Villa that sleeps four and opens onto a private patio facing the water. Two Bedroom and Garden Cottages suit families, each with its own kitchen or kitchenette and a mix of queen, king, and twin beds. The restaurant sits open to the ocean air, its kitchen built around a wood-fired grill turning out gallo pinto, casados, and grilled seafood, with a sunset happy hour run daily from 4pm to 6pm. A beachfront yoga shala holds classes each morning, cushioned and fan-cooled, doubling as a lounge once the mats are put away. It is a small, owner-run place. Jacó, with its livelier bars and shops, is a twenty-minute drive north.
