Estancia La Paz Country Club is set at the base of the Sierras Chicas, on 500 hectares where the Ascochinga River meets open parkland. The estate's 19th-century core once belonged to Julio Argentino Roca, twice president of Argentina, and the surrounding park was laid out by landscape architect Charles Thays in 1900. That park still frames the property today, its old trees running down toward the river and the golf course beyond.
The hotel occupies the historic main house and holds just 20 rooms, rustic in structure but sophisticated in finish, a short walk from the water and enclosed by woodland. Restaurant 1830 serves regional Córdoba cooking alongside contemporary dishes, inside the same 19th-century walls. Beyond the hotel, the estate carries an 18-hole golf course, polo fields, and equestrian facilities, all set within the historic parkland where the old trees do most of the work.
Since 2015, part of the estate has developed as a residential country club, with houses positioned toward the golf course, the sierras, the park, or the river. Several are designed by architects of international standing. You can walk from the hotel to the polo fields inside ten minutes. It is a working estate as much as a stay, with golf, polo, and riding running alongside the rooms and the restaurant.
