Horseback Mashatu

Riders explore the Northern Tuli Game Reserve on horses schooled for African terrain, crossing natural ditches and jumping logs as they canter past elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and the reserve's more elusive cats. Rides run in the morning or afternoon, with departures also possible from Mashatu Lodge and Tuli Safari Lodge. A riding test confirms competence before setting out, since this activity is for experienced riders only. Children under twelve cannot take part, and riders under eighteen must be accompanied by an experienced adult rider. Skilled riders can extend the experience with a seven-day riding safari across Mashatu. Non-riders have game drives, walks, a hide and cycling instead.
